We are making a set of improvements to how you collect payments through Mint, and we want to give you a clear picture of what’s changing and why before it lands.
From 1 October, surcharging on Visa, Mastercard and eftpos won't be permitted, and Amex is aligning with the same change. We understand that business owners want alternative ways to accept payment that keep costs down, and greater control over checkouts.
This update is built to add these capabilities and keep payments in line with how travel businesses work and how consumers expect to pay.
Our current checkout page and the static Company HPP Link are being replaced by the new Mint Checkout Page and dynamic Payment Links, enabling a cleaner, modern checkout that works well on any device with fewer steps and faster payments for your clients.
We are working closely with our mid-office partners to upgrade the payments experiences within their platforms.
Depreciated features
The prefill from URL (Get-Link) function will be removed and replaced with enhanced capabilities through our API.
The new experience improves payment security, supports more payment methods and features, improves the user experience, whilst reducing friction and client errors such as paying the wrong amount.
Access lower-cost payments with PayID bank transfers
More control over payment methods and international credit cards
Improved client choice with popular card alternatives
Stronger security and authentication options to reduce fraud risk
A modern, mobile-friendly checkout that makes it easier for clients to complete payment.

Stronger security and payment approvals to help make sure transactions are legitimate. Enhanced options you can enable include:
Frictionless 3D Secure: reduced prompts for One-Time Passcodes.
Amex SafeKey: 3D Secure authentication for American Express.
Optional billing address validation, aiding payment approvals.
More control on every payment link: Some of these features will be available in the standalone experience soon, whilst those who have Mint integrated in their platforms via API can choose to implement them now.
Set the payment methods on each link
Control allowed card regions
Update or cancel a link after sending
Surcharging control per link
Redirect clients back to your website after payment
Support for bookings, deposits and recurring payments
Cleaner data and reconciliation: Structured booking and client details flow through with the payment. You get improved settlement reports and information available via the portal, integrations and API, making reconciliation easier with less manual matching for your finance team.
