Sydney, 1 February 2016: Payments processing technology provider, Mint Payments (ASX: MNW) (Mint or the Company) has partnered with multi award winning travel agency software solution provider Tramada Systems (Tramada), signing a three year licence and distribution agreement to deliver its fully integrated online payments processing service “Minternet”. Through the use of Minternet’s Application Programming Interface (API) software, Tramada has developed an integrated credit card module (tramada® Payment Gateway) that will be offered to all of its customers as a core product offering within Tramada’s suite of travel agency software solutions. Mint will receive a share of the merchant acquiring services and transaction fees, as well as a monthly fee charged to each travel agency.
Tramada’s network of approximately 300 travel agencies process around three million travel bookings per year, representing approximately $4 billion of travel spend. Tramada customers include more than 60 government departments, agencies and universities, 80 large multinationals and 100 ASX listed companies, of which 35 are in the top 150 companies by market capitalisation with four in the top 10.
Up until now, Tramada travel agencies used separate systems to complete payments processing tasks, resulting in a very labour intensive user experience. Mint will deliver an integrated online payment gateway service that will provide Tramada’s extensive network of travel agencies with the ability to seamlessly process online credit card payments, generate invoices and receipts as part of the tramada® automated travel booking process. This partnership creates the opportunity for Tramada travel agencies to take advantage of cost competitive merchant acquiring services provided by Mint, with additional process and cost efficiencies that will drive a significant improvement in customer experience.
Tramada Systems CEO Jo O’Brien said: “Automation is our mantra and the seamless integration with Mint effectively eliminates what would otherwise be a manual process, delivering time savings with the resultant benefits of cost savings, accuracy and integrity.”
Tramada Systems Head of Product Management John Tran said: “Security is paramount to Tramada. With tramada® being PCI DSS compliant, it is important to us that our partners maintain this high standard. With PCI DSS compliance and certification PCI PTS and other international payment regulations, partnering with Mint Payments was an easy choice.”
Mint Payments CEO Alex Teoh said: “Our integration with Tramada aligns with our strategy to partner with best of breed solution providers. We are delighted to partner with an innovative business like Tramada and look forward to working together to provide the region’s travel agents with the most efficient and cost effective solution.”
Implementation and integration between the Tramada and Mint systems has been completed and the tramada® Payment Gateway is now available as part of Tramada’s core product offering. A number of travel agencies have already been attracted to the new service and will be transacting with Mint from this month.
