Sydney, 23 November, 2021: Qantas Business Rewards and Mint Payments (Mint) have entered into an exciting new partnership that will see Qantas Business Rewards (QBR) being made available to Mint’s merchants who opt into the rewards program.
Launching today, this new rewards offering will provide Mint merchants with one of the highest earn rates for payments in the travel industry, which will see Mint platinum-tier merchants earn 1 Qantas Point for every $5 transacted – one of the leading Qantas Business Rewards Points earning propositions available.
The reward program will be rolled out across Mint’s credit card product suite (both card-present and card-not-present (virtual) payments processing) and the Mint EFT Portal, and will later be expanded to include new Mint payment products as they come online in the future. The reward offer, which will replace Mint Rewards, will provide merchants with a significant opportunity to earn Qantas Points by doing their normal business, with the ability to reward themselves, their staff, or even their customers depending on how they choose to redeem or share the points.
While the program will be offered to all Mint merchants across all sectors, it is especially beneficial to, and was designed in particular for, merchants in the travel industry. Travel agents are not only able to earn Qantas Points for payments made by the customer to the agent, but are also able to earn points for payments made by the agent to suppliers through the Mint EFT Portal. The partnership is the first of its kind in offering travel agents uncapped Qantas Points for their business. Under this new reward program, a platinum-tier merchant could earn over 1 million points each year across credit card and EFT transactions[1].
Mint’s partnership with Qantas Business Rewards is set to be a welcome development to Mint’s travel partners as businesses begin to gear up for the resumption of travel in the coming months. Helloworld’s CEO, Andrew Burnes, had this to say of Mint’s new partnership:
“Helloworld is delighted to partner with Mint as our new payment platform partner. After extensive research Helloworld chose to go with the Mint platform and our decision has been reinforced by this new partnership with Qantas Business Rewards” said Andrew Burnes, Helloworld Travel CEO. “It’s a great outcome for our agents and comes at the perfect time as Australia and the world opens up again to travel.”
Qantas Loyalty CEO Olivia Wirth said,
“Qantas Business Rewards is specifically designed to reward small and medium Australian businesses by providing the opportunity to turn everyday business expenses into Qantas Points. We are proud to support more than 350,000 businesses, and after a challenging 18 months for the tourism industry, we look forward to seeing those in the travel sector rewarded through this partnership with Mint.”
Director of APAC Operations and Mint Co-Founder, Andrew Teoh, said:
“Qantas is an industry pioneer epitomising the Australian spirit. Together with Qantas Business Rewards, Mint is extremely proud to launch this innovative new loyalty and rewards program specifically designed to help the Australian travel industry bounce back from a difficult 18 months. Throughout the lockdowns, Mint has been working with its travel merchants and valuable partners such as Helloworld to minimise business costs while transaction volumes dipped. With Australia opening up and Australians ready to fly again in the new year, Mint’s comprehensive all-in-one platform covering credit card, EFT, and other payment methods to come, coupled with the enduring value of Qantas Business Rewards keeps true to our ethos of being the most rewarding payments provider in the industry.”
Merchants who sign up to Mint and the Qantas Business Rewards program with two Mint products by 31 December 2021 will be offered three times their standard earn rate until 31 March 2022.
