EasyJet Signs Agreement with Mint Wireless For Mobile Payment Solution

Mint Wireless Limited (ASX: MNW) (“Mint Wireless”) has signed an agreement with easyJet Airline Company Limited (“easyJet”) for Mint Wireless to provide its mobile payment Enterprise software and the Mint Managed Payment Service to easyJet’s mobile service delivery platform, Halo. easyJet is Europe’s leading airline, operating over 580 routes across 30 countries. easyJet launched their Halo project in 2010 enabling back-end applications such as boarding, sales and customer relationship management systems (CRM) to be accessed using wireless handheld devices throughout easyJet’s global airports.

Working with Mint Wireless Business Partner, Motorola Solutions, Mint Wireless will provide the payments functionality for easyJet, while Motorola Solutions will provide Motorola mobile computing hardware, point of sale application and Motorola payment card readers. Together, the solution will enable easyJet to accept customer present EMV chip and PIN payment transactions at check in, boarding and allowing excess baggage fee collection thereby increasing easyJet’s passenger revenue. easyJet will be piloting the solution across six European airports – Geneva, Amsterdam, Madrid, Barcelona, Munich and Hamburg – with a minimum of fifty devices and licenses deployed across these locations over a three month period. A further 130 airports will be rolled out once the pilot has been successfully completed.
